What structured data does
Structured data is a short block of code that says, in a form machines read without guessing, what a page is about: this is a bakery, this is its address, these are its opening hours. Google uses it for business details and rich results, and AI assistants use it to answer questions about you.
Paste the code anywhere in the page’s HTML, usually just before </head>. Most website builders have a box for “custom code” or “header scripts”. Then run the SEO audit on the page: it reads the code and tells you if anything required is missing.
Keep it true
Everything in the code must also be on the page, in words a visitor can read. Markup that says more than the page does breaks Google’s rules and can cost you the rich result.
